The ‘AI for Good Global Visions’ conference is set to launch in just under a month. The unique event will connect innovators in artificial intelligence (AI) with problem owners throughout industry, academia and government to solve national and global challenges.

The conference offers a unique and exciting programme with an exceptional line-up of speakers and panellists, amongst them academics, entrepreneurs, AI trail blazers, and international and national policy makers. Having previously announced high level speakers such as Neil Sahota, IBM Watson group leader and Nokia Bell Lab’s Alessandra Sala, AI for Good Global Visions is delighted to additionally confirm the participation of IDA CEO Martin Shanahan and former Ireland captain and international rugby pro and current successful tech investor, Jamie Heaslip. As well as these additions Newstalk’s Jonathan McCrea will be the official MC for the event. The Irish chapter of ‘Women in AI’ will be organising a special train from Dublin to Sligo kindly supported by Huawei.

Event goers can also look forward to ‘Adventures with AI’ – an ‘optional day three’ where attendees will experience the beauty of Sligo infused with AI. Take a short hike up mythical Knocknarea or surf the wild Atlantic waves. Hikers and Surfers alike will meet at a local oyster farm before taking in inspired performances from the Yeats Society of Ireland on the historic Lake Isle of Inisfree. After some R&R attendees will meet up for the closing party of AI for Good Global Visions 2020.

The 2020 conference is kindly supported by IDA Ireland, IT Sligo, The Western Development Commission, the Northern and Western Regional Assembly and the Atlantic Economic Corridor, as well as Sligo County Council and Tech Northwest, and is run in conjunction with the International Telecommunications Union (ITU) the UN agency for information and communication technologies (ICT).
