Course Summary
The programme provides an effective foundation course for international (non-EU) students who wish to pursue undergraduate studies at IT Sligo. Its principal aim is to equip you with the necessary skills, knowledge, confidence and English language competence, to continue your undergraduate education in our Schools of Science, Engineering & Design, Business & Social Sciences.
The programme has been designed to:
- Develop your ability to communicate and interact effectively by enhancing your English language competence (oral, aural, reading & writing), mathematical, inter-cultural awareness, ICT & Research study skill set.
- Prepare you, both academically and practically, for entry into our Engineering & Design, Science or Business & Social Sciences undergraduate programmes at IT Sligo.

Entry to this programme is based on successful completion of a secondary school education considered equivalent to NFQ Level 4 (e.g. SPM – Malaysia; General Secondary School Certificate – Saudi Arabia, Oman) and a minimum IELTS score of 4.5 (or equivalent). Applicants from non-EU countries (where applicable) must hold a valid visa for the duration of the programme.
