Exciting times for tourism in the West of Ireland with Ryanair launching four new flights from Ireland West Airport Knock to Paris, Frankfurt, Milan and Barcelona. A group of six IT Sligo students are assisting with the organisation of the launch as part of their events project management module for the Bachelor of Business in Tourism.
All the students involved are from the West of Ireland – Sheila Hegarty, Niall Soden, Jennifer Gibbons, Marian Nugent, Lorraine Moran and Mary Moran- and they are working alongside Donal Healy, Ireland West Airport Knock Marketing Manager, in the organisation of the event, which will take place at the airport on 27th March. The students will be on hand to welcome the first passengers off the flights and to assist with the media launch.
