MSc in Marketing (online/blended)

The M.Sc in Marketing will avail of IT Sligo’s expertise in on-line delivery and move towards a blended delivery mode. This means that the programme will now be delivered using a combination of on-line delivery and traditional teaching methods. This can help facilitate a health life work balance.

The Programme Schedule is outlined below. Please note you can still complete the M.Sc in Marketing in one year as a full-time student. Furthermore, the blended delivery mode does not in any way impact on any grant you may receive as a full-time student.

Our aim with this advanced course is to prepare you for a career in marketing at managerial or senior executive level. The programme will develop your capacity to provide marketing insight and leadership in any organisation. It is marked through a combination of continuous assessment, integrated assignments and end-of-semester examinations.

Building on the key skills you acquired during your undergraduate studies, this Masters programme provides advance level study in:

  • Strategic and analytical thinking, decision-making, leadership and communication
  • Digital media marketing, sales practice, marketing ethics
  • Service innovation and leadership, export marketing practice
  • Finance and entrepreneurship
  • Strategic marketing, brand management

The course lasts one year full-time, however, you may select individual modules to complete at your own pace allowing you to combine postgraduate study with work and family commitments if necessary.

Entry Requirements

You must hold an honours degree (2.2) level 8 or higher or equivalent professional qualification in a business-related area or Higher Diploma in Business level 8. To be a successful candidate on this course, you must have taken at least three marketing subjects at undergraduate level.
