IT Sligo Marketing Students and local electronic music collective Select Are hosting an on-line party from Lola Montez Nightclub for St. Patrick’s Day. The event will take place on the 16th of March from 8PM-12PM.
The event will be broadcast on Zoom, featuring a selection of performers from well-known and extremely popular Irish DJ groups Select & Faint. Who are chomping at the bit to provide entertainment in these strange times with an alternative offering from Saint Patrick’s Day we are used to.
This event is being organised by Students as part of their final year BB in Marketing Degree course, Events Management module. Giving them a chance to organise an event to showcase the skills and ingenuity they have acquired. This event will be run in conjunction with local DJ collective Select.
With the current Level 5 lockdown, it has never been more important for people of all ages to have an event to look forward to, albeit online. The benefits to the students and patrons alike from this live experience will be far-reaching.
With online events being more important than ever, students will gain experience not only in all aspects of the event but the satisfaction of providing an outlet to enjoy.
As people are not allowed to leave their homes for gatherings, this is a way of safely and responsibly interacting with friends without breaking restriction guidelines.
