Biography

Originally from Strandhill, after an Arts degree in NUIG (English and Sociology) Áine did a Level 9 in Library and Information studies in UCD. She also worked for a couple of years in Dublin Public Libraries. She started in IT Sligo in November 1999 as a library assistant. She did a certificate in computing in what was then ITSligo, and got the role of systems librarian. In 2014 she completed a Masters through University of Limerick in the use of digital technology in education. Áine is particularly interested in the way technology is perceived and used in education. Aine moved into a new role as instructional designer with the Sustainable Futures Project in 2021 and in 2022 did a level 7 higher cert in 2022 in 2D/3D Digital Animation Production.
