Tell us a little bit about yourself and what led you to choose your course.
I grew up with all my siblings playing sports and it’s what I love to do. The reason I chose my course is that I have always wanted to be involved in sports and I have a keen interest in sports injury recovery as I have had plenty through my years of playing.
Why did you choose ATU Sligo?
Sligo is close to my home and it was one of the few colleges where they had this course. I had also gone to the open days in Sligo and I liked the campus and the people there. I thought that ATU Sligo would suit me best.
What specifically about your course do you particularly enjoy?
My course is a very hands-on course which I enjoy. I find my course very interesting and I like learning new things every week.
What would you say to a student thinking about studying your course?
I would tell them to do it because it’s very interesting and you get to learn and do a lot of new things.
Tell us about your sporting career/success so far?
I’ve been playing basketball since I was 5 years of age and have been playing with my local club since I was 8. During the years growing up in my local club, I’ve achieved various MIP and MVP awards and also captained for many years and led teams to regional titles and also two All-Irelands with my club. When going into secondary school, I achieved MVP all my years there and also achieved an All-Ireland. From the age of 12, I have been representing my region playing away in tournaments all over Ireland and I was also invited by the NE to play with them in Poland. When I was U16 I also had the experience to represent Ireland which I gained a lot of experience but due to an injury, I couldn’t continue the season. Now I play for ATU Donegal Letterkenny women’s National League where we play all over the country.
