How to apply:

Non-EU student applicants seeking 1st year or advanced (2nd, 3rd or 4th year) entry into an IT Sligo undergraduate or postgraduate programme should submit the following documents to the International Office (international.office@nullitsligo.ie):

  • A completed IT Sligo international application form.
  • Full curriculum vitae.
  • Certified copy transcript of high school results.
  • Certified copy transcript of university or college results.
  • Letter of recommendation from his / her home university or college.
  • Evidence of proficiency in English.
  • The closing date for receipt of advanced entry applications (September course entry) is 1st June each year.

As all lectures, tutorials and practical work are delivered through English, it is vitally important all incoming International students (who are not English native speakers) have the required standard on entry to ensure they gain maximum value from their time at IT Sligo.

Fees

All fees must be paid in advance of travel to Ireland (IT Sligo).

Visas

Most non EU students coming to IT Sligo must obtain a study visa before travelling to Ireland.

  • Countries Requiring Visas: A full list of the countries requiring visas can be obtained from the Irish Department of Justice or by contacting the IT Sligo International Office.
  • Visa Requirements: Full details of the visa requirements can be found on the Irish Naturalisation and Immigration Service website.  There is a special section devoted to Student Visa Guidelines which explains the documentation which must be provided. Students should allow a minimum of 8 weeks for a visa application to be processed.  Applications can be tracked on the INIS website by entering the visa reference number given.
  • Re-entry Visa: Where a non-EU student wishes to return home or travel outside Ireland during their studies, a re-entry visa is required. This can only be obtained from the GNIB office in Burgh Quay in central Dublin. A re-entry Visa letter for the GNIB can be obtained from the International Office.

Medical Insurance

All international students from outside the European Union are required to have private medical insurance.
