Brenda Feeney is the Programme Director of the MA in Social Work and Lecturer in Social Work.  Brenda is a professionally qualified and registered Social Worker, with extensive experience in social work practice. Brenda has worked as a social work practitioner and manager in Child and Family Social Work Services and as a social work practitioner in Medical Social Work Services. Brenda has also worked as an Independent Social Work Consultant for child protection and children in care services, fostering services, for the courts and with CORU (Health and Social Care Regulator). Brenda is currently a member of the Board of Assessors (social work) with CORU.  Brenda moved from Social Work practice to the higher education sector in 2017, having held a part time lecturing position in Social Care Practice for a number of years.  Brenda also lectures on the BA in Social Care Practice and the BA in Early Childhood Care and Education at IT Sligo.  Brenda is a graduate of IT Sligo (BA Applied Social Studies in Social Care) and Trinity College, Dublin (MA in Social Work).  Brenda is currently engaged in Doctoral studies at Queens University, Belfast.
