INTRODUCING TY TASTERS AT IT SLIGO

IT Sligo is delighted to announce our TY taster day events! This is a great day that allows Transition Year students to explore different areas of study,  take part in workshops and experience student life on the IT Sligo campus for the day.

SCHEDULE

10am:   Arrival 

10.20:   Welcome talk & Introduction to IT Sligo.

11am:   Workshop 1  – choice of workshops

12pm:   Workshop 2  – choice of workshops

1pm:     Break for lunch

2pm:     Tour of the IT Sligo campus & facilities   

3pm:    Finish

Students can choose workshops to attend based on their area of interest. These will vary from Business, Science, Engineering, YAADA, Computing and Social Sciences.

Please note that different workshops will run on different days and are subject to availability. Eventbrite links will be supplied to book these Workshops. Spaces are limited for these so please book early to ensure you secure the ones you want.

Law and Business: Dirty Money

Occupational Safety & Health: ‘Be Safe not Sorry’

An interactive workshop examining workplace accidents and what can go wrong. Can your team win the safety harness challenge?

Advanced Wood & Sustainable Building Technology 

In this workshop, students will be introduced to the courses available and careers in the industry. Students will be put into groups and take part in following activities;

o             Introduction to Laser cutting

o             Student practical with roof assembly

o             Revit and Virtual Reality introduction

o             Tour of the workshop and facilities
