Archaeological Research

We have a wide range of archaeological research projects at IT Sligo, carried out in a number of broad thematic areas. Our expert staff are currently focused on unique projects including cave research, faunal remains, prehistoric and historic landscapes and buildings. The projects discussed include both staff and post-graduate-driven projects and our undergraduates often have the opportunity to gain valuable experience in survey, excavation and analysis.  We aim to integrate our research and teaching so that real-life examples are used in both lectures and practical classes.
