ATU Sligo is holding a mathematics talk for primary and secondary school kids during Maths Week. The speaker, Dr. Fernando Blasco is a mathematician and lecturer at the Polytechnic University of Madrid, interested in recreational maths and magic. He uses magic to introduce the public to topics such as prime numbers, knot theory, sudoku, topology, number systems, mind games, calendars or quick calculation. We invite local primary and secondary schools to attend this event. There are two talks scheduled during the day. One aimed at 5th & 6th class primary school students, at 10am. Another is aimed at 1st to 4th year secondary school students, at 1pm. To book a place, please contact fionn.downes@nullatu.ie, and share the following information: Your School. Registration is not complete until confirmation from ATU Sligo. Capacity at 280 primary school students + 280 secondary school students.
