Three PhD research positions are available at Institute of Technology Sligo, Ireland

3 PhD positions in Materials Science and Electrocatalysis   

Highly motivated individual with a first class or high second class honours degree/ masters in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Nanotechnology, Micro-biology, Materials science or a related discipline is required to work in a EU funded H2020 project. This project aligns with the recently awarded H2020-PANIWATER which is a multidisciplinary research project where several EU and Indian organisations collaborate to investigate on novel and sustainable technologies for purifying wastewater.   The PANI WATER consortium represents a collaboration of world-renowned Universities, research labs and organisations.

Previous research experience in catalysis, electrocatalysis, electrochemistry, cytotoxicity and materials characterisation will be advantageous but not essential. Scholarship €16,000 (3.5 years) and the fees will be paid.

The objective of this PhD project is to develop Advanced Oxidation Processes (AOPs) for the removal of Antimicrobial resistant organisms from water.
