IT Sligo is delighted to offer scholarship opportunities to international students applying for full time, on-campus courses.

International Country of Origin Scholarship

  • This scholarship offers 10% or 15% tuition fee scholarships to eligible Non-EU applicants for full time, on campus programmes.
  • Applicants from a country with a GDP (per capita) of $10,000 or less are eligible for a 15% tuition fee scholarship.
  • Applicants from a country with a GDP (per capita) of less than $20,000 (but greater than $10,000) are eligible for a 10% tuition fee scholarship.
  • Once a student has been awarded a country of origin scholarship, they can continue to avail of the scholarship during their studies at IT Sligo, subject to certain conditions. Please see Terms and Conditions for further information
  • Scholarship is open to Non-EU applicants who have received an offer to study on a full-time, on-campus programme at IT Sligo and who are eligible for Non-EU tuition fees.
  • The scholarship can only be awarded as a tuition fee reduction. 
  • The scholarship is awarded for Year 1 of a student’s academic studies at IT Sligo. The scholarship can continue be awarded in each subsequent year of study provided that the student successfully progresses in their programme of study with at least a 60% average in yearly examinations. If the student must repeat attend OR repeat exams only, they will not qualify for a scholarship for that academic year. If the student successfully completes their repeat year, they can qualify for the scholarship again in subsequent years, provided their average is over 60%.
  • In all instances the determination of GDP figures for applicants to Foundation, Undergraduate and Postgraduate programmes at IT Sligo will be assessed through the most recently available statistics from the World Bank.

Your eligibility for the scholarship will be assessed as part of your application to study at IT Sligo. You should apply using the International Application Form. 

International Alumni Scholarship

20% tuition fee scholarship available to Non-EU students who have graduated from an undergraduate programme at IT Sligo and are progressing to a postgraduate degree at IT Sligo.

  • The scholarship can only be awarded as a tuition fee reduction.
  • The scholarship cannot be applied in conjunction with the IT Sligo International Country of Origin scholarship.
  • To be eligible for this scholarship applicants must meet the following criteria:
  • • have graduated from an undergraduate degree at IT Sligo
    • have received an offer to study at a full time, on-campus taught postgraduate programme at IT Sligo
    • be eligible for Non-EU tuition fees
    • meet all admissions requirements for their chosen postgraduate programme.

Your eligibility for the scholarship will be assessed as part of your application to study at IT Sligo. You should apply using the International Application Form.

Claddagh Scholarship Programme

The Claddagh Scholarship Program (CSP) is an initiative aimed at fostering closer links between Ireland and China by encouraging Chinese students to choose Ireland as a study destination. The scholarships is open to applicants from China who have received an offer to study on an eligible programme.

IT Sligo will be offering the following tuition fee scholarships through the Claddagh Scholarship Program for the 2021/22 Academic Year.

  • 10x undergraduate scholarships up to value of €2500 for the 2021/22 Academic Year
  • Eligible programmes: Bachelor (Hons) degrees in the Faculties of Engineering & Design, Science, Business & Social Sciences.
  • 4x postgraduate scholarships up to the value for €2500 for the 2021/22 Academic Year
  • Eligible programmes: MSc Bioprocessing Science and MEng Structural Engineering / Geotechnical Engineering.
  • Scholarships are open to students from China who have received an offer to study on an eligible full time, on-campus programme at IT Sligo.
  • All scholarships will be awarded as tuition fee scholarship only.
    Scholarships cannot be awarded in conjunction with any other international scholarship awarded by IT Sligo.
  • Scholarships can only be awarded to students who are eligible for Non-EU tuition fees.
  • Applicants must meet the admissions requirements of their programme of study and the eligibility criteria for the scholarship.
  • Scholarships will be awarded on a competitive basis.
