ATU Brand Guidelines

Atlantic TU will educate and inspire in the West and North-West region, and deliver impact far beyond it.

The ATU visual identity comprises a selection of elements, and the correct application of each is equally important. Every execution is an opportunity to do things right, and best represent who we are and what we do. Please download our brand guidelines here (18.91 MB).

The aim of the ATU brand guidelines is to serve the functional and conceptual communication needs of Atlantic Technological University.

  • On the functional side, the book contain a guide to the use of brand assets, with examples of them in use across a broad range of applications.

  • The conceptual needs are reflected in the brand positioning and usage guides. These reflect the intent of the broad alliance that has come together to make ATU a reality. In combination, these create a platform that will serve the university’s communication needs into the future.

  • The system is designed to be flexible — encouraging creativity across all communications.

All students, staff,  partners and third parties who wish to utilise the ATU brand in their marketing communications are expected to download the brand guidelines and ensure adherence to the visual identity across all applications.

For more information on the ATU brand visit the brand guidelines page here.

ATU Logo

The ATU logo is a central part of the visual identity, providing a memory trigger for what ATU represents.

The most commonly applied version is the Full Logo, which consists of the icon (A-mark) and the full University name in Irish and English. The full logo is available in a suite of brand colours (teal, green, navy) as well as black and white versions.

The ATU logo is also available as an  initialised version, which consists of the ATU symbol using the icon as the A-mark, with the full university name in Irish and English. The initialised logo is available in English and Irish – ATU (Atlantic Technological University) and OTA (Ollscoil Teicneolaiochta an Atlantaigh).

The full logo and initialised logos are available to download below in .jpg, .png, .svg and .ai file types. Other versions are available and can be accessed from your Marketing team.

Colour Palette

Our primary colour palette is drawn from nature – from the ocean, shore, flora and land. It consists of two darks of Navy and Dark Green, with a strong Teal. Alongside these are a neutral Sand and a strong Orange. These colours are the first choice in most applications, used in combination for text and backgrounds, along with black and white. Colour should be used as a tool to differentiate rather than to identify. We recommend against using colours as an identifier for organisational units such as faculties. More information on colour palette is available from our ATU brand website Brand Guidelines | ATU – Atlantic Technological University

Fonts

An overview of our font families is available from the ATU Brand website. If you don’t have access to these fonts for marketing materials please get in touch with our team. For most everyday communications Arial is the preferred typeface.

Templates

ATU Sligo letterheads, email signatures and other templates can be downloaded by clicking on the buttons below.

The branded backgrounds for Adobe Connect and MS Teams may appear mirrored when you look at yourself in a virtual platform, but they are correct and will appear the correct way around for others within the virtual platform.
