This Support course aims to help you to:
- Articulate the meaning of academic integrity
- Recognise the value of academic integrity both within higher education and the wider world
- Understand how to demonstrate and uphold academic integrity in your work
- Identify plagiarism
- Understand the purpose of referencing and acknowledging others’ work
Artificial Intelligence and Assessment
You will be provided with more specific advice by the University and individual lecturers throughout the year with regard to the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools such as ChatGPT, DALL-E and Bard. If you are uncertain about whether a particular use of AI tools aligns with academic integrity, consult your lecturer. For further guidance on the use of AI with your assessments see here
Who should you ask for support during your studies at ATU Sligo?
Your Online Student Advisor will be able to provide support and assistance to you throughout your course on all non-academic queries. Your OSA will write to you in the first few weeks of your course, to see how you’re getting on. Your Course Coordinator and lecturers will also be a source of support to you, for academic queries.
