March 25 @ 12:30 pm - 2:00 pmFree
Join the IT Sligo Contract Research Unit on Thursday 25th March at 12.30 to find out about two important public consultations in the Irish energy market that relate to the EU Clean Energy Package. Once registered at the below link you will receive an invite to the webinar on the day of the event.
CRU Consultation on Energy Communities and Active Consumers
Join the IT Sligo Contract Research Unit to find out about the Clean Energy for all Europeans Package (CEP) which aims to empower individuals (Active Consumers) and groups of consumers (Energy Communities) to participate in the electricity market. The Commission for Regulation of Utilities (CRU) has launched a public consultation to inform the development of an enabling regulatory framework for active consumers and energy communities. The consultation includes the following topics; Identification of Energy Activities, Energy Sharing and Trading, Aggregators, Consumer Information & Protection. The CRU are seeking responses to this consultation by 16 April 2021.
DECC Consultation on the Energy Efficiency Obligation Scheme (EEOS)
We will also discuss the recently launched consultation on the design of the new EEOS scheme to commence in 2022. The previous scheme ran from 2014 to 2020 and over that time supported energy efficiency actions in more than 290,000 dwellings and over 3,000 businesses. The EEOS is a legal requirement on energy suppliers and distributors (‘obligated parties’) to help energy users either financially (or otherwise) to save energy in their property. The Department of the Environment, Climate and Communications (DECC) invites views from the public by 30 April 2021
