Nano2H2: Nano-electrocatalysts for sustainable hydrogen production from bio-resources

Research Project Summary:

The Nano2H2 project aims at the integration of low-value bio-based compounds for hybrid water electrolysis to improve the energy efficiency and cost of power-to-hydrogen conversions.

Bio:

Sreedhanya Pallilavalappil received a bachelor’s degree in chemistry and a master’s degree in applied chemistry from the University of Calicut, Kerala, India. Her fields of expertise fall under the field of materials synthesis, photochemistry, and sensing application of nanomaterials. Currently, she is a Graduate student at ATU Sligo, as a part of SFI funded project ‘Nano2H2: Nano-electrocatalysts for sustainable hydrogen production from bio-resources’ under the supervision of Prof. Suresh C. Pillai. The Nano2H2 project aims at the integration of low-value bio-based compounds for hybrid water electrolysis to improve the energy efficiency and cost of power-to-hydrogen conversions. As a Ph.D. researcher, Sreedhanya is working on the development of the design, synthesis, and performance of novel electrode materials for hybrid electrolysis.
