Biography

Aonghus Murphy is an Assistant Lecturer in Engineering Science at the Institute of Technology, Sligo. His primary degree is in Science, where he majored in Experimental Physics & minored in Mathematics. Aonghus commenced his lecturing career in UCD, where he demonstrated Experimental Physics laboratory experiments. He received a M.Sc in Medical Physics from NUIG and another M.Sc in Environmental Engineering from UCD. Aonghus presented his research at international and national level, he was one of the main speakers at the European Medical Physics and Engineering Conference (EMPEC) in 2011.  With a professional background in Air Science and Medical Physics, he now teaches at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

Aonghus is a PhD candidate at UCD. His research will examine the anthropogenic degradation of the environment, air science, passive control systems, behavioural change, citizen science and the performance of Natural Based Solutions on public health and wellbeing.
