Biography

Dr. Gwen Scarbrough is an Assistant Lecturer in Social Sciences at the Sligo Institute of Technology. She has worked as a midwife in the U.S., providing care for women and babies from a variety of backgrounds.  Currently, her research is focused on maternal and infant care and mothering practices.

Research interests include anthropology, motherhood, maternal and infant health, childcare practices, Steiner Waldorf education, "Biophilia" and engaging with the natural world.
