Originally from Co Mayo, I have studied in UCG, DCU and UU with BA, HDip in Ed, Diploma in IT and MSc in Restorative Practices.  I have worked most of my career at the college and was involved in the development of the degree programmes in Social Care Practice, Early Childhood Studies and Custodial Care in the areas of Sociology and Social Policy.  More recently I have specialised in the delivery of modules on Development Education, International Development, Crime, Desistance and Integration, Restorative Practices Global Social and Child Care and Placement work on these programmes. In the past I have delivered modules in the Business programme in Economics, Organisational Behaviour and Management Studies also.  My main research interests are in the area of Sociology, Sustainable Development and Restorative Justice.
