Biography

Ríona joined Institute of Technology, Sligo in 2015, having previously  lectured for National University of Ireland, Galway and worked in PricewaterhouseCoopers in both audit and taxation roles.

She is an Associate member of Chartered Accountants Ireland and the Irish Taxation Institute, holds a Master of Accounting and is currently undertaking doctoral research examining the operation and consequences of management control systems in audit firms.

Ríona has lectured in Accounting, Finance, and Taxation at undergraduate level and Finance at postgraduate level.

Research Interests

The subject area of Ríona's research is management control systems. Previously Ríona worked as a research assistant on a funded project on management controls and innovation. Ríona is currently undertaking a PhD examining the operation and consequences management control systems in audit firms.
