Biography

Dr. Stephen Daly is a professional with over 13 yrs experience in Industry and Academia. He has developed strong lecturing and mentoring skills, published a number of peer reviewed publications and gained research funding. He has extensive online teaching experience as well as experience in new course development. He is the course co-ordinator for the online Level 6 Special Purpose Awards in Biopharmaceutical Processing, and Cleanroom Manufacturing. He lectures from Level 7-9 in a range of subjects including Pharmaceutical Regulation, Lean Six Sigma, Biovalidation, Biopharmaceutical Facilities and Utilities and Practical Immunodiagnostics. 

Dr. Daly has spent many years working in a technical operations leadership role in the medical diagnostics industry . He has led teams responsible for Product Design Changes, On-Market Product Support, CAPA Investigations & implementations, Project Management, Product Transfers, and Regulatory Submissions etc. He has strong team work/interpersonal and educational skills.

Dr. Daly has a Ph.D. in Biotechnology from Dublin City University. His Ph.D. was titled "Development of antibody-based assays for the detection of aflatoxins and organophosphates". Through his Ph.D. he has gained significant experience in recombinant antibody production, purification, and immunoassay development. He has continued his interest in assay development both through his industrial career and academic research interests. His current area of research is in the development of  a multi-analyte lateral flow immunoassay for detection of kidney markers. Dr. Daly has also collaborated with local bio-industries through student research projects.
