Safety and Health, awarded by the Faculty of Engineering, University of Porto
(FEUP), Portugal. Conducted his postdoctoral research at the Laboratory of
Safety and Hygiene at Work at the University of Pernambuco (UPE), Brazil.
Currently, he is working as a permanent wholetime Assistant Lecturer for Environmental
Health & Safety at the Atlantic Technological University (ATU),
Ireland.
Industrial experience gained through the
position as the Health and Safety, Audited Standards and Quality Manager for a
Medium Sized International Manufacturing Company being responsible for the
plant in Ireland, giving support to plants in the UK and Spain. Further
multisite managerial experience was gained through the Health, Safety & Risk Manager position for the largest pork processing company in Ireland,
being responsible for five production sites.
He is a Member of the Editorial Board
for the journal International Journal of Occupational and Environmental Safety
(IJOOES), and actively participates as a member of scientific committees and
reviewer for several international journals and conferences. As an active
researcher, he has participated in several international research projects
conducted within different industries: civil construction; frozen food; urban
solid waste industry; among other. He has published 3 books and over 60
articles in international journals and conferences. |
