Biography

Tony Partridge (PhD, MSc, MA, BA(Mod), HDipEd, RSADipIT) is a PWT Lecturer in Mathematics with Computer Applications in the Department of Environmental Science, School of Science, Institute of Technology, Sligo. His teaching subjects include Mathematics, Information Technology, Health Statistics and Epidemiology. His office is B1087 and email address is partridge.tony@itsligo.ie. His areas of research include Artificial Intelligence, Health Statistics (particularly using SPSS and R), Information Technology, Ancient Greek and Russian philosophy, Film Theory and Fine Arts. He has published, in peer reviewed journals, in these subject areas. Previously, he has worked as a Computer Manager in a European-wide EU-funded epidemiological study of diabetes, in industry as an Analyst/Programmer and as a teacher at secondary school level and at Further Education level, including teaching students with disabilities. His most recent publications and public lectures have been in the areas of new technology, Ancient Greek and Russian philosophy, Film Theory and Fine Art.
