Biography

Dr. Valerie Mc Taggart is the Head of the Department of Social Science at ATU Sligo. She has a degree from The University of Ulster at Jordanstown, a BA Hons Degree in Applied Consumer Studies from Queen Margaret University, Edinburgh, a Master’s in Business from John Moors University Liverpool, and an Ordinary Degree in Teaching and Education from the University of Galway. She completed her PhD at DCU School of Business. Before joining ATU  Sligo in 2018, Valerie worked in Financial Services for over twenty years in Ireland and the UK, undertaking various roles, including project management, people management and training and development.  She is also the Director of ATU Sligo’s Research Team ' The Future Digital Organisation'. and the founder of ATU Sligo IDEaS Hub which supports entrepreneurship development in undergraduate students. Valerie also works closely with industry partners to support them on their Digital Transformation journey. Valerie has published her work in peer-reviewed journals  and has  presented her research at several  national and international conferences
