Brian Power, General Manager of Atlantic Beach Club, New York and Assistant Manager John Myers, visited IT Sligo last week to recruit staff for their busy summer 2010 season.  Both mangers were genuinely impressed by the level of interest from IT Sligo Marketing, Tourism and Leisure students and the calibre of the interviewees.   The company has recruited a high proportion of their staff from IT Sligo in recent years.  In addition to bringing back a list of student recruits, they also digitally taped the interviews, enabling other Clubs in their area to recruit IT Sligo undergraduates.

Ann Higgins, Head of Department of Marketing, Tourism and Leisure at IT Sligo commented: ‘We are delighted to be associated with this recruitment drive by Atlantic Beach Club, N.Y., as it provides an opportunity for our students to put into practice key skills of customer care and service quality developed during the course of their studies at IT Sligo.  It will also give them invaluable insight to the American hospitality sector, where the customer is always king.  These high levels of service delivery will prove central to Irish economic recovery strategies’.
