Open Day – Thursday 19th November 2009 Thinking of starting college in September 2010? About to complete your CAO application form?  IT Sligo is holding it annual Open Day on Thursday 19th November 2009, come on your own, with parents, or with your school to see what IT Sligo has to offer. Everyone is welcome to attend, including secondary school students, college of further education students, mature students, parents, teachers and career guidance counsellors.

Do I need to pre-book? Individuals do not need to pre-book but groups can get in touch with Dara McGoldrick on 071 91 55383 or email to make a booking.

Subject area visits:
There will be talks held on most subject areas several times during the day. Lecturing staff and students will give presentations and/or demonstrations about their subject areas and will be providing guided tours around academic departments and facilities. Each talk will be 15-20 minutes approximately, giving you a great opportunity to find out about the various courses on offer in IT Sligo in greater depth.  Lecturing staff will be available to answer any questions you may have.

How to get the most out of your day:

  • On arrival at the main reception of the college you will be met by our student ambassadors.
  • You will be provided with the Open Day programme which lists the times and locations of talks or you can download it here: opendaytimetable.pdf
  • Attend introductory talks and as many taster talks as possible during your visit.
  • Visit the exhibition stands and speak to current students and lecturing staff.
  • Take a tour of the college.
  • Take a prospectus home with you.

Take a tour:
Join a Campus Tour and see the students services area, library, IT and sports facilities on campus. Tours are led by current students, lasting approximately 20 minutes.

Our Access Office will be making a presentation on the application procedures for mature applicants at 12:00pm.

Our Careers service will have a stand in the main exhibition area and will be on hand to answer any questions you might have about future job prospects and careers.

Getting around:
Alternatively you can pick up a copy on the day. If you require help or directions during the day, please visit the main stand in the main corridor or ask one of our student ambassadors for assistance.  We hope you have an enjoyable and informative day.
