Rural Futures the theme at Creative Design Showcase
The BA in Creative Design (Hons) Showcase, which opens at IT Sligo this Thursday June 2nd, carries the theme of ‘Rural Futures’.
The show is open to the public and will be launched in IT Sligo’s Yeats Library (Ground Floor) at 7pm.
A culmination of work undertaken by students over the past semester will be on display with a focus on rural life, including products ranging from a remotely operated vehicle for part-time farmers, to a management system for farm accounts utilising future technologies.
The exhibition is an important opportunity for the students to experience, organize and present work in the public domain. As part of their preparation for the show, students spent two weeks in a small community in Partry, Co Mayo researching rural life.
The showcase will also feature a selection of works by students from first, second and third year.
