Students from IT Sligo’s School of Engineering & Design will showcase their award year projects at the Institute’s inaugural Engineering Expo on Thursday, May 7th.

A huge variety of projects will be on display from an oyster shell crusher, pneumatic go-kart, mini robot to an automated rain water harvesting system, a study on hydraulic fracking and an assessment of hydro systems for the Shannon river.

The day-long event is open to the public, and will see students across all the engineering disciplines (Mechanical, Electronic, Mechatronic, Civil and Environmental) display over 90 final year individual and group projects.

Each project will have a poster presentation on display on the main concourse in IT Sligo and many projects will have a prototype on display in various labs and workshops.

The event will also provide an opportunity for companies to connect with students at a special careers fair.
