A group of IT Sligo students are celebrating receiving their Fitness Instructor qualification from the European Health & Fitness Association (EHFA), the national register of exercise professionals in Ireland.

The students attained the qualification while studying for the Bachelor of Business in Recreation and Leisure, and because it can be easily transferred across the EU and Australia, the additional qualification is valuable for students who intend to travel after completing their degree.

The fitness qualifications offered as part of the three-year Bachelor of Business in Recreation and Leisure include Gym, Group Fitness and Personal Training.

Third year students offer a free and confidential one to one personal training service to IT Sligo staff as part of their course, and this service has proven very popular amongst staff over the past three years.
