Performing Arts students at IT Sligo have helped celebrate a special milestone for the Institute’s International Office.

Students from Performing Arts, Design and Acting in the Department of Computing and Creative Practice created the metamorphosis concept of student experience at IT Sligo, which was performed at this year’s Sligo St Patrick’s Day parade.

The interpretration marks the 30th anniversary of the International Office at IT Sligo, which has been looking after the Institute’s international students intake each year since the first cohort of Erasmus students came to the college in 1987.

The concept embodies the metamorphosis involved in college life interpreted through a movable cocoon structure that transforms into vibrant dancing butterflies.

The entry proved popular with the Sligo St Patrick’s Day parade judges with the entry winning the Best Community Award category for 2017.
