If you’re hoping to start a Civil Engineering degree course this September but are worried about your Leaving Certificate mathematics result, help is at hand.
IT Sligo is offering a free online pre-degree Mathematics Open Course MOOC, which can help you meet the mathematics entry requirement.
The MOOC leads to a special Maths exam, equivalent to Leaving Cert Higher Level.
The MOOC is particularly suitable for CAO Leaving Certificate applicants who may not meet the Mathematics entry requirements for their preferred honours degree programme. A pass in this special exam will be deemed equivalent to meeting the Mathematics entry requirement.
The Mathematics examination will take place on August 23rd, 2017 at IT Sligo and may also be available as an on-line proctored examination.
Current and prospective applicants can access the Mathematics MOOC as follows:
1. Register your name and email address on the Open Course (MOOC) website here: https://opencourses.itsligo.ie/login/signup.php
2. Once you’ve registered on the site, enrol for the course here: https://opencourses.itsligo.ie/course/view.php?id=27 (the enrolment key is civil2017).
