Library-Outside-Fish-300x195IT Sligo will hold an Adult Education Open Evening from 5 to 7pm on Tuesday, September 6th on Part-Time, Online and Postgraduate study options starting this September. With more than 50 courses on offer in a range of flexible delivery modes, there is something on offer to cater for all areas of interests.

Information will also be available on the Government Springboard Initiative which is providing free places on selected courses for the unemployed.

Further education provides a good opportunity to build on existing skills or to work on a career change, and Registrar Dr Brendan McCormack said that IT Sligo’s part-time, online and postgraduate courses are proving to be increasingly popular.

“Flexibility is central in our part-time, online and postgraduate courses. People looking to further their education may be trying to study while in a job, or they may have family commitments which mean that they need that flexibility in their scheduling.

“It has never been more important for people to build on their education and skills base and we invite anyone who is interested in learning more about further education to come and speak with us at our Adult Education Open Evening,” he said.

IT Sligo is recognised as a national leader in online learning and won a ‘Digital Media Award this year for ‘Best in eLearning’.

Courses under the Springboard Initiative which still have places available include Electronic Engineering, Environmental Management, Pharmaceutical Science and Polymer Processing.

The Adult Education Open Evening will be held in IT Sligo’s Yeats Library (Lower Level), in IT Sligo’s Main Building from 5pm to 7pm on Tuesday, September 6th. Admission is free and all interested people are welcome to attend.
