Statement from Professor Vincent Cunnane, President IT Sligo & IT Sligo Students Union

Jamie Shaw, a first-year Performing Arts student, died at his accommodation in Sligo yesterday. He was 23 and from Belfast.
He had been unwell for a few days and was confined to his apartment.
The staff and students of IT Sligo extend sincerest condolences to the Shaw family at this desperately sad time.
The full range of the Institute’s counselling and support services are being made available to Jamie’s family, flatmate, classmates and friends.
Funeral arrangements will be announced in due course.
